Course Description: In this course, students will learn how to integrate everyday math application and computation skills needed to make quantitative and precise calculations, solve mathematical problems, analyze and interpret data and make sound decision making skills in order to build and strengthens basic skills in personal and business finance.
Aim: This course will enable students to Present real-world data that is relevant to business and math Explore Internet and research topics Develop written and verbal language activities.

Course Description: In this course, students will learn a survey of preparatory topics for high school mathematics, including the foundations for high school algebra. Appropriate technology, from manipulative to calculators, should be used regularly for instruction and assessment
Aim: This course will enable students to: Understand and use linear relations and functions.
Understand and compute with real numbers. Develop written and verbal language activities.
Tests, Project and Quizzes 70 % Classwork 10% Notebooks/Homework /Behavior/Warm-up 5% each total 100%
Materials needed by student daily!!
Students should come to class with: Pencils (LOTS) (I expect all assignments to be completed in pencil) 2 red pencil (for grading only 3-ring binder with notebook page Colored pencil/crayons, Ruler, Glue stick ,Scissor Graph paper/ Composition Book (wide ruled) Removable Drive (Pen drive, key drive and etc. Planners/Agendas
Instructional Philosophy
RESPECT yourself, school staff, and peers. Arrive to Class ON TIME Enter the Classroom SILENTLY! Sharpen pencils. Get sheet or work (warm-up) and all supplies/ materials daily. Get out your homework Food, gum and beverages are not allowed in the classroom. I think Pierson/Smith class is important and I feel that you should be in class to receive the proper instruction each day therefore taking care of your personal needs only before or after class. But I realize emergencies do happen; therefore, each 9 weeks you will get 3 free bathroom breaks in which you will be able to leave Pierson/Smith classroom and go If it becomes a problem, parents will be notified! There will be times when we have class discussions and you can speak freely, one at a time, but other than that, if you want to speak, you must raise your hand and wait to be called upon. Calculators are NOT to be used on any assignment unless you have been given permission by Pierson/Smith/McMillan to do so! There will be times when calculator use will be allowed and you will be told at the appropriate times. Areas that are Off Limit in the classroom that you must get permission first before you can go to or get anything from. These include Pierson/Smith/McMillan desks, podium, closets, file cabinets, printer computer, and shelves. Students are responsible for ensuring that their Portable Communications Devices are turned off and out of sight during the instructional time (“instructional time” is defined as the moment a student enters the classroom to the final dismissal bell(90 minutes)) when not in use as directed by Pierson/Smith/McMillan. · Homework can be turned in one day late but the highest grade that will be given is a 90! Any day after, a 70 will be given if it is complete. Late or Missed Work: It is your responsibility to ask for, complete, and turn in any late or missed work!

Course Description: In this course, students will learn how to describe and translate among graphic, algebraic, numeric, tabular, and verbal representations of relations and use those representations to solve problems. Appropriate technology, from manipulative to calculators and application software, should be used regularly for instruction and assessment. integrate everyday math application and computation skills needed to make quantitative and precise calculations, solve mathematical problems, analyze and interpret data and make sound decision making skills in order to build and strengthens math skills .
Aim: This course will enable students to: Operate with the real numbers to solve problems. Find, identify, and interpret the slope and intercepts of a linear relation. Visually determine a line of best fit for a given scatterplot; explain the meaning of the line; and make predictions using the line. Collect, organize, analyze, and display data to solve problems. Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to solve problems
